This was filmed in my home town, so I am anxiously awaiting the DVD so I can do a frame-by-frame analysis of where exactly each scene was shot.

Marie Antoinette made me seriously consider buying a Delorean so I could go back to 18th century France to live. But then I realized that I already sort of am living there. The rich enjoy frivolous lives where the spend their money on nonsense like a miniature village or like billion dollar homes. The poor work and work to pay the taxes that the rich should be paying and are barely surviving. Here’s to hoping that no one comes up with the modern day answer to the guillotine.

Okay, end of ridiculously political and stupid rant.

The speech about privilege that Bill Murray gives at the beginning of the film was inspired by an actual speech once given by Robert Wilson, father of Andrew Wilson, Luke Wilson and Owen Wilson.

I absolutely LOVE this dress. Too bad it’s the best thing about the movie (besides James McAvoy that is.)

Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80’s movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80’s movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life.
